Managing menus
Menus are managed in two levels: the Menus page lists your menus; click one to open it and manage its categories and items.
The menus list
- Add a menu with the input at the foot of the table — you land straight in the new menu. A menu is LIVE whenever its schedule matches — there is no publish step. The Status column evaluates this in your store's timezone.
- Duplicate — deep-copies the menu's categories and product assignments (the products themselves are shared, not copied). The copy keeps the schedule but starts with no channels, so it can never appear in front of guests until you turn a channel on.
- Archive — removes the menu from every channel and the default list; nothing is deleted. Use Show archived (foot of the table) to see archived menus and restore them.
- The header actions create whole menus at once: CSV import and the AI menu creator. To change what's already there in bulk, the AI assistant turns a plain-English request into a reviewable draft you approve change by change.
Inside a menu
Click a menu to open it. The header shows its live status, schedule and channels:
- Rename the menu by clicking its title.
- Edit schedule — days (none = every day), a time window (blank = all day; a window may wrap midnight), channels (TILL / ONLINE / KIOSK), and — for multi-store organisations — which stores serve the menu. No channels = the menu is off everywhere. No stores selected = served at every store, including ones you add later; pick specific stores to keep a menu local (the Menus list shows each menu's reach in the Stores column). Two stores sharing a menu always sell it at the same prices — stock and sold-out states stay per-store as usual. Individual products can restrict further: an item shows on a channel only when both the menu and the product's own sales interfaces allow it (set on the Products page). Which items appear on kitchen prep screens is decided per station in Settings › Printers & routing (tickets always print regardless).
- Import CSV here appends categories to this menu.
- Duplicate and Archive are also available; archiving returns you to the list.
Categories (left)
- The order is the till's category-pill order and the guest channels' heading order. Drag the ⠿ handle to reorder, or focus it and use the arrow keys.
- Click a category to edit its products on the right; click its name to rename it.
- Subcategories — press Sub + on a category to nest one under it (e.g. Drinks → Soft Drinks, Cocktails, Beer). Two tiers maximum. On the till, the top row shows the parent categories with larger buttons; tapping a parent reveals its subcategory row (parent = everything, sub = narrowed). Guest menus render subs as "Parent · Sub" sections directly under their parent. Products can sit on the parent, a sub, or both.
- Availability times — each category shows a compact summary under its name ("Always available", or e.g. "12:00–16:00 · MON–FRI"). Click it to set the days and time window the category is on sale — e.g. Lunch Sarnies 12:00–16:00, Breakfast Sarnies 09:00–11:30. Outside its window the category and all its products disappear from online ordering and kiosks automatically; it works exactly like the menu schedule (none = every day, blank = all day, a window may wrap midnight) and is evaluated in your store's timezone, within the menu's own schedule. Leave everything clear for always available. A subcategory is on sale only while its parent's window matches too.
- × removes a category — the products in it are untouched.
- Add categories with the input at the bottom.
Products in the selected category (right)
- Click any row to edit the product in full — it opens the same edit drawer as the Products page: name, price, tax, description, allergens, dietary tags, accounting group, sales interfaces, order types, station, photo, modifier groups, availability windows, menu placements and archiving. You're editing the master product record, so changes apply everywhere the product is sold, not just on this menu.
- Add product opens a searchable picker; tick as many products as you like and add them in one go.
- New product creates a product without leaving the menu — the create drawer opens with the current category pre-selected, so the product lands right here the moment it's created (untick it in On menus if you didn't want that). The edit drawer then opens for the finishing touches.
- Reorder rows with the ⠿ handle (or arrow keys) to set the item order within the category.
- Sold out / Back on sale — mark a product sold out for the day (or bring it back) without leaving the page. Sold-out products stay visible here with a red badge; they hide on guest channels only. Till staff can do the same with a long-press on the product tile.
- Click a status badge (On or Sold out — hover for whether it was marked or the stock ran out) to fix stock on the spot: a small dialog shows the count for each store with the same controls as Stock — set the count and low-stock warning, switch between Tracked and Unlimited ∞, or mark sold out / put back on sale — with a link through to the full Stock Control page. When a shared pool is what's sold out, the dialog says so; pools are managed in Stock Control.
- × removes a product from the category (the product itself is untouched).
Duplicating a product
Duplicate product at the foot of the edit drawer copies a product as "Name (copy)": the current name, price, tax, description, allergens, dietary tags, availability windows, accounting group, sales interfaces, order types, station, photo and modifier groups. Stock levels and sales history are never copied, and the copy always starts on sale. Duplicating from inside a menu category also drops the copy into that category; duplicating from the Products page leaves it unplaced. The drawer switches to the copy so you can rename and adjust it straight away.
Not in this menu (left)
Under the category rail, the Not in this menu panel counts the catalogue products that aren't placed anywhere on this menu. Expand it to search them and + Add any straight into the selected category — no trip to the Products page needed. Archived products aren't listed here; the Archived products → link takes you to the Products page's Archived tab, where restoring is handled.
