Z reports

A Z report closes a trading day: everything since the last Z is snapshotted into a numbered, unchangeable report — sales, payments, shifts, discounts, voids, refunds, gift cards, tax and more. Find them under Finance → Z reports.

The trading day

Each store sets when its day rolls over in Settings → Stores → Z report ("Day closes at"). With a 04:00 boundary, sales at 1am count against the previous day's report — late-night trade stays on the right day. The default is midnight.

Closing the day

Press Close business day (manager PIN required). The report covers everything since the last Z up to the moment you close — so nothing ever falls between reports. Sales made after you close land on the next day's report. Closing is refused if the day is already closed, and every close is recorded in the activity log.

Till cash-outs are unaffected: each shift's float, count and variance still happen on the till, and every shift closed during the day rolls up into the Z's Till shifts & cash section.

The archive

Every Z is numbered in sequence and kept forever, exactly as issued — the layout in force at the time is saved with it, so old reports always re-render the way they were printed. From the archive you can view, print, or export CSV for any report.

Reopening a day

Only the organisation owner can reopen a closed day (it's audited). The original report stays in the archive marked Reopened; when you close the day again, a new Z number is issued and clearly marked as an amended issue of the original. Figures are never edited in place.

Choosing what's on the report

Settings → Stores → Z report controls the layout: toggle sections on or off, reorder them, rename their headings, choose gross/net figures, the VAT split, and how many top products to list. A section with nothing to report for the day hides itself — you never print empty blocks. Copy to store applies the same layout to another location.

Sections that need data the platform doesn't record for your store (for example kitchen timing without a KDS) simply won't appear.
